Randominities

I got sick at the start of the week. Stupid flu bug was all over the office. I was sneezing so badly while TRYING to do my work. Thank goodness for caring coworkers!

Thanx Mohammed for the Vitamin C tablet, and thanx Yoges for the paracetamol.

So after taking the paracetamol, i felt a little better, though still sneezing. The problem is, i was dozing off half the time and i drank two cups of tea to keep myself awake and warm.

Yeah, anyway, the night i ate some flu pills. I love flu pills cause it'll knock me out in no time! Haha, but the only problem is that, i HAVE to sleep for 8 hours or else i'll end up looking like a puffer fish!

Working in the morning sucks cause i have to get up before the 8 hours. Yeap, you guessed it. My face got a little swollen in the morning. Haha, but thank goodness it subsided in the afternoon.

I have to say, the concept of the video is really good. It received some great responses from fellow Avenged Sevenfold fans.

If you all have seen A7X's music videos, you can see that there are certain elements that make a great Avenged Sevenfold video. First, of course, is the fast car. Second, the hot strippers/dancing girls. Third, booze of course and last but not least, the twisted concept of the video itself. There will always be an element of Avenged Sevenfold that no other bands have.

For example, Bat Country. They turned the dancing girls into snake like creatures, with the rattlesnake tails and forked tongues. Beast and The Harlot, where the dark concept of doing anything to be famous, to be noticed, on how you can change in an instance with the things going on around you. The idea of being corrupted.

Okay moving on.

Back to the concept of the video. It's good overall, yes but firstly, i'm not sure if A7X fans like the idea of having only Matt (i love it how i say his real name like i'm friends with him, haha) be the leading role. I think they should incorporate all the members of Avenged Sevenfold somehow, like Beast and The Harlot, and Afterlife, where each member has their own unique scenes.

Secondly, they're vampires. Okay, i can live with that. But i do however believe that the concept of the song is not about hunting. But yeah, atleast they're creative enough to think about the storyline. Haha, i don't see me coming up with something like that.

P/S: The fangs MShadows usually have on are snake fangs, not vampire fangs. Just saying. *blimey~*

Thirdly, they're not dead. Well they don't seem dead, atleast to me. There are part of the song which goes, "We can see their flesh is rotten" in the first verse and "Bone covered up by suit, as the visible scars, they multiply" in the first after the chorus.

You know what would be cool? If the people in the bar and the dancing girls are actually rotting. Half of the bones and skull are visible.

Wouldn't that be wicked! Maybe to me? Anyone else think the idea of rotting dancing girls are cool? Haha.

Man, i need therapy.

BUT however,

i do LOVE the idea of the band being in coffins. ADORE the idea of having the video clip in a graveyard.

Another day, another patriotic post by the oh-so-awesome, the oh-so-greatest, peace loving, Gaia saving, yours truly of course, Arynne!

The reason why i'm being so patriotic is NOT because of the hot military men who i have been chatting to in Tagged. Though, i know they're reading this, so HELLO!

In the topic of saying hello to all the military men that are reading this, i would also like to say THANK YOU.

Thank you for making it your job to protect the countries and the citizens are that living in them. Thank you for taking care of all the ignorant people who only sit on their asses all day expecting people to do things for them, taking care of those who keep pointing fingers and dishing out the blames for all the selfish, bad decisions they made.

See people, while we are so into our own conceited lives, complaining about what we don't have and dismissing whatever good we have in our lives, these men and women selflessly sacrificed their freedom, their time with their loved ones, their lives sometimes. Are they complaining? FUCK NO! So what rights do we have to complain so much about our lives?

Greedy lot, we human. I'm ashamed.

I would join the military too if i could. Don't matter. National Service? United Nations Army? US Army? Canadian Army? Whichever, i don't care but i know i can never survive in such harsh conditions, very demanding environment.

As much as i hate to admit it, i do lead a very pampered life. Air conditioned room, heated water, soft comfy bed.

So what fucking rights do we have to complain when people who have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, see innocent pleasures in simple objects, that we arrogantly turned away from?

There happen to be people who loves and adore my love for my country. There are people who love how i am contented with my life no matter how fucked up it has always been. Anyway, i write for me anyway, not for you people.

Though i do however adore how people keep saying they hate my guts, they hate my blog but still religiously read it. Yeah i'm talking about you, you know who you are.

I feel so blessed to have people hate me. Of course, that just means that i bear such great impact in their lives for them to hold such great explosive resentment against me. Wowee, look what i've done!

As i was saying before, i don't really care if you people hate me. I know i've said it lots of times, and it's hard to convey the message to you guys on how much i don't care when people hate me. The reason being? Cause they bear no deep significance whatsoever to me that whatever they say about me, don't really mean anything. They input their hate on baseless and groundless knowledge of what they think they know about me, that whatever they do make no difference.

It doesn't make my life any better, and it sure as hell doesn't make my life less better.

I wouldn't wanna hate them back or talk about them excessively cause that'll just mean that i care about what they think or what they do, so the next best thing to deal with these so called stalkers? Tease them.

Pretend you're talking about them and then abruptly stop. Like now.

Anyhoo, there's so much hate and brutality in this world that i fear for the safety and the innocence of the future generations. It's sad for them to be born into an ungrateful, selfish and mindless society.

So instead of complaining that i still don't got most things i want in my Desired List, i'm gonna say cheers!

I'm not the last but i sure ain't the first

Rehan said my personal messages in MSN have been very patriotic, and all the talks about the military men, and every single thing that have to do with the country.

The thing about me is that, i've always been patriotic. I was born in Singapore, grew up in Singapore and every little thing about me is Singaporean. I love it here.

I know i've been complaining alot about how Singapore treat her own locals, and how much they prioritize Mandarin when it comes to finding a job.

Yes, i do admit, there are some elements that make me want to leave Singapore. But, not forever. I know where i belong, i know where my home is. Even if i leave Singapore, the chances of me wanting to come back home is highly likely.

No matter where i go, no matter how comfortable i get in another country, there would probably be a part of me that is missing. Being in another country will never be the same as being in your own country.

It's like being in another person's house. You are never THAT comfortable and you will always be thinking about your own bed, your own pillow.

That probably how i will feel if i decide to settle down somewhere else.

The thing about people is that, we never see what's infront of us. We have a home, a family, a life in our home country. I don't know why people are still complaining about what they don't have. There are people out there who wish to be with their families every single day, and keep thinking that if they'll ever get to see their families again.

Yes, Singapore may be the 10th most expensive country to live in, but think about it. Instead of complaining about how expensive things are here, or how low our salaries are, be contented. Be happy that we are prospering and doing so well. Be happy that somewhere in our own conceited lives, we are living the live that only someone be dreaming of.

Be happy with what we have right now, cause chances are, we'll lose it all some day.

Let me ask you these questions. Do you see your family every single day you wake up every morning? Do you have that money to buy that latest model of whatever technology life can offer?

Scratch that.

Do you have that thinking that somewhere in this world, someone out there is probably starving? While we throw away our one day old food and be fussy with what our parent's cook every day, there are people out there who actually find peace with what we threw away?

Have you ever thought while you were cursing your parents or your significant others, wishing them all the bad things, there are people out there who wish to be with theirs every single day? Worried that when the next time their significant others come back, they'll be in a body bag?

Why can't we ever be contented with what we have?

We are always comparing ourselves with other people. We are always adoring what other people have, that we don't see what's actually missing in their lives.

Chances are, my friend, they are not better off than you.

After all these time, i'm coming home to you

I know i've posted some controversial post about the war, the government and sometimes even the decisions the presidents make. Well maybe this post will not be any different, for a fact that i am gonna talk about the military men that is serving their respective countries.

Well the difference with this post is that, it's not really deep, just really light hearted reading. Haha, of course for the female readers, wait for it okay. (There's a surprise at the end of this post.)

Here's the thing. You all know how much i respect the military men that sacrificed their freedom, their time and their family just to uphold the honour and the safety of their countries. There's nothing more commendable than that, that's for sure.

There's nothing i like more than a man in uniform. Well there is, SMART man in uniform. OH WAIT! Smart, RICH man in uniform. Haha, i'm just kidding but that's another story for another day.

I know i've said so many times that having an army force in Singapore is pretty much useless cause they basically don't really have hands on experience on what the army teaches them during their 2 years in National Service (well compared to the Police Force and the Civil Defence of course), but i'm gonna take that back. I think there's no harm in being prepared for something that might or might not happen cause *knock on wood* there's a possibility that it will.

Hey, everything's unpredictable so why not try to predict what's coming and be prepared for it. So on that note, i apologize to all the army men in Singapore who i have insulted and disgraced.

Wow, never thought i'd see the day that i will apologize in my very own blog. Yes, i admit defeat on this topic. They too deserve our respect.

But on the hindsight.

What is up will all the not so hot men here in Singapore?? I mean, yeah some of them are pretty hot and damn bangable (shut up! i know i just used the word bangable!) but that's just a handful. I mean, okay they look pretty suave and charming in those uniform of theirs and their chivalrousness usually overcome their shortcomings in the looks department.

No people, i'm not trying to be mean but ask around and i'm pretty sure most girls in here will agree with me. Yeah sure, they have abs but the moment they ORD, they don't have the time or interest to train themselves and ended up with spare tires around the once-there-abs.

Okay, now imagine this. (Girls only!) Not being sexist but most army guys here like to hit on the girls when they're out on the streets!

A group of military men walking past you in the street and then they did a double take (ON YOU!). How flattered will you be if all the military men here look like this.









Now, that's a sight i will NEVER ignore.

AH CHEW DESSERTS

As you all know, i don't really like to advertise places or things or people in my blog unless i really really think it's good. So far, the only place i've recommended was the ice skating rink in Jurong East (i think) and the Earl's Swensen restaurant.

Both are good, by the way. I swear by my blog. And you all know how fucking important my blog is to me. Oh yeah, it's my life. It basically hold my history and past and everything else about me.

Yeah, that's not my intention in writing this post. I just have the habit of side tracking. Okay so, moving on to the real purpose.

I'm here to recommend another eatery. Well, not really an eatery but kinda like a dessert house.

If you all don't already know about this place, here i am to unravel one of the treasure in Bugis.

Situated just behind Bugis Junction, in one of those stores lies a traditional chinese with a touch of fusion dessert house. It just looks like an ordinary place, with really traditional plain interior designing. Bambo furnitures which look like antiques from the early china dynasties.

When you step into the place, there's an epic feel to it. I really don't know if there's any history to the place but it feels very rustic. Very old and simple.

Do not judge the look of the dishes are with how the food taste like, cause you'll be blown away by how ambrosial the desserts are. Although they are very simple and plain desserts, you can actually taste the different flavours they infuse to get it just right.

Here are some of the desserts that are highly recommended by Fafa, Linsy and I!

Pulot Hitam with Ice Cream



Also known as Black Rice Dessert. The conventional way of eating this dessert is to pour coconut milk on it. You can have it the traditional way or for you youngerster, you can have it topped with ice cream and a sprinkle of almond slices, slighty toasted to crunchy perfection. Cold.

Steamed egg and milk with Chocolate cookie





For the more health conscious ladies, there is a plain steamed egg with milk on the menu. But do not judge its plain interior for a plain taste. It's not too sweet like an egg tart but its not too bland to the tastebuds either. They have a nice balance of creaminess from the milk and the smoothness of the egg. The silk-like texture of the egg just flows down your throat with ease. There's a chocolate cookie one too, but they do not use the chocolate cookie as a whole, more like cookie crumbs but its good. You can choose to add ice cream to this dessert as well. Comes in hot or cold.

Aloe Vera with Strawberry and lime





A refreshing dessert. Best taken when the weather is hot and you need something fresh to cool your body down. The taste of lime and strawberries goes really well. The sourness of the strawberries and the sweetness of the aloe vera really gets your taste buds going. A warning though, once tried, you might crave for more. Cold.

Mango Sago with Pomelo





Looks like liquify mango pudding, but taste so devine. The creaminess of the mango dessert is just nice. The sweetness of the mango did not overpower the other main ingredients of the dish. The sago give you something to chew on while the burst of the sourness of the pomelo refreshes your body and send a slight tingle on your spine. The meat of the mango is like a treasure being hidden under all the other simple looking ingredients. It's soft, and sweet, but not overwhelming. Cold.

Truly divine, dishes worthy of the gods indeed.

Just a word of advice. Those faint hearted should not try the Japanese sweet potato soup, as the overwhelming smell of the ginger will put you off a little. But for those risk takers, enjoy!
