So much for being a Singapore Idol

I don't know if you all have heard about it, but apparently Taufik Batisah, our first ever Singapore Idol was invited to sing the National Anthem at the F1 Grand Prix.

Awesome right? I mean, being able to sing the National Anthem infront of all the racers, and non Singaporeans, and probably having people watch you all over the world, is a dream come true for most singers, i'm sure. And yeah, if i were him, i'll be so proud to sing my National Anthem infront of everyone.

Anyhoo, the performance went straight to BlunderVille. Well he kinda sang a different syllable. From "Marilah kita bersatu" to "Marilah kita berseru".

Sure, it's barely noticeable but i mean, he's a Singaporean, a malay Singaporean. Anyway, it's a whole different meaning too. So i don't know what excuse Taufik have to justify his blunder.

I can't say he's nervous cause he's a tip top performer. Maybe he is, whatever.

I'm just saying that if he has an excuse, it better be a damn good one. We've been singing the National Anthem for approximately the same amount of years we have been living, and it's pathetic that you forgot the verse.

I'm embarrassed.

But hey, i'm sure your fans will forgive you Taufik, but i'm just being over critical cause i'm a patriotic citizen. Shame on you!

P/S: I'll forgive you one day, Taufik. Haha

[UPDATE:

Taufik Batisah apologized for making the error, reported by Channel NewsAsia. He said he was nervous but knows that it's not an excuse for the mistake.

Well Taufik, we're only human i guess and it's only normal for us to make mistakes. So okay, i forgive you. HAHA

END OF UPDATE]
