Recipe of the day: Sausage cheese roll

This recipe is super simple. You can actually just add some things to make it your own recipe. I like experimenting with herbs and different types of butter with this, so yeah.

This is my go to recipe for last minute outings or family picnics. Well, usually they request me to do this recipe, so it became one of my "signature" dishes. Hehe.

So lets start, it's really really simple.

Things you need:
Wholemeal bread (or puff pastry)
Hot dogs/sausages (the normal kind, not specially flavoured)
Slices of cheese. (you can use any type, but i prefer cheddar single slices)
Garlic butter (you can choose any type, or even skip it altogether)
Dried herbs (optional. personally, i like using Oregano)
Egg (only applies if you use bread instead of puff pastry)

So, firstly just spread a little garlic butter on the bread (optional). Then put one slice of cheese on the bread and one hot dog/sausage. Just start rolling it, really, and then just put it aside before dunking them in the egg mixed with the dried herb (optional). Shallow fry it till golden brown. You don't want to deep fry it cause it's really really disgusting. Haha, that's just my opinion.

I suggest you use a non stick pan though, cause the cheese WILL ooze out of the roll and then it would stick to your pan. It happened to me the first time i tried this, that's how i know.

For people who wanna use the puff pastry, it's basically the same thing, but instead of frying it, you just bake it in the oven according to the instructions. You just wanna make the puff pastry rise and the cheese melt, so yeah.

See, i told you it's simple. So i hope you guys try it and tell me how it is!

Have fun and have a great day!
