First Impression: Dr Wu Hydrating Gel Cleanser with Aqua Collagen

Disclaimer: I am in no way or another associated with the company or brand mentioned in this blog post. Item featured is bought using my own money and i am not being paid for the product placement and views on product are of my own.

So over the week,
i went toiletries shopping as i am dry of my favourite cleanser "Equilibre" which can only be bought at Raffles Skin Centre and it's a whooping SGD45. Actually, i wouldn't mind paying that much for a good cleanser so i really like it as it's fragrance free, alcohol free and it's also non-comedogenic.

As you all know, i have sensitive and acne-prone skin type that gets dry or oily depending on the weather outside so, with all those in mind i tried to find something that is similar to what i have been using.

Oh believe me, i was like a fish out of water in that department and no one helped me so i read labels after labels of facial cleansers.

I have been reading about Dr Wu's skin care range and so i just head on to the section and started reading of labels. So i grabbed this product shown above and it says that it is alcohol free and non-comedogenic. That is more important to me so i don't get my pores clogged.

It does however has a little scent, it's not really that noticeable unless you pump a lot of it on your hand.

So it comes in a 150ml pump bottle like most gel cleansers, but i think it's pretty small compared to my 100ml Equilibre cleanser bottle. There's a clip on the shaft of the pump so it won't accidentally pumps out product if you have it in your bag cause it doesn't really have a pump cover. So i guess that's not really a problem. The pump nozzle however, i feel is unnecessarily long so it kinda makes it seem as if the packaging is bigger.

Yeah, so anyway, i don't really mind the packaging or the bottle itself.

Lets talk about the price. It's SGD39.90 at Watson's. You can try Sasa, cause i think they sell Dr Wu products too but i'm not really sure about the price, it's probably the same though. The price is not that expensive compared to the previous cleanser that i used, so i'm not so fussed about it.

So, the product. I'm gonna type of what is says on the box as it's the most accurate description ever.

"Hydrating Gel Cleanser with Aqua-Collagen is formulated as a mild, non-detergent cleanser with DLS that cleans and hydrates thoroughly without irritation. It contains Oceagen which exhibits high water-binding property and can be easily absorbed by the skin to facilitate hydration, replace lost moisture and reduce dry patches. This formula is effective in removing superfluous cuticle, preventing the blockage of important sebum-secreting pores, and leaving your skin clean and moist."

So, when you first pump out the product on your hand, the gel is almost like a liquid consistency, kind of a runny gel. It foams up not bad when you massage it on your face, which i like, so i have no problem with that.

Once you rinse off the product with warm water, you can feel that the foam really did clean away all the make up, and the dirt on your face.

What else can i say about it?

It really did live up to the name of it being hydrating cause you don't feel the tightness on your skin like most products that have chemicals in them. The skin feels plumper too, like it really did locks in the moisture in your skin.

I haven't seen any changes on my dry skin yet. I can still see some parts of my skin are peeling off and kind of scaly, especially around the curves of the nose and the eyelids.

Right, so i have just used the product for two days now and i have to say i'm not crazy about it, or raving about it like i did with my Equilibre cleanser but it is not that bad and it is very moisturizing. I guess i am gonna give it a month or until the product finishes, or if i start breaking out. Whichever comes first.

Dr Wu skin care has a lot or ranges and depending on your skin type, you can pick whichever range fits you. I might get the Acnecur System range if this Basic Care one is good.

You guys can check out Watson or Sasa which carry the products and check out the website. I'm gonna link it here.

I don't do all these all the time, but if you guys like it or not, just comment on it and if there are any products you all would like to recommend me, please do so.

Have a nice day!
